Everyone has opinions and beliefs that influence our understanding of the world around us. This week we will examine the strength of implicit and explicit bias on attitudes and practices. Project Implicit is an online research site that allows users to measure attitude bias toward ideas, behaviors, and members of groups.

The Project Implicit website uses online tests called Implicit Association Tests (IATs) that capture how strongly the IAT taker connects concepts or groups. Some of the topics the IAT covers are race, gender, sexual orientation, and religion, among others. IAT results can offer input to discussions about attitudes toward topics such as race, class, diversity, equity, and inclusion in various societal contexts.
