This format follows certain pre-set rules of formatting. It is the major style of writing used (Ali et al, 2015). Some of the rules that apply to this format are that the essay that is formatted using this style should be typed, it should have a double spaced lines and typed on a standard size of paper. This paper measures 8.5 inches by 11 inches with also 1-inch from the edge to the margins on all sides. The lettering must be readable written in times New Roman and a font of 12. One may also list some keywords in this part. It should not exceed one paragraph and should be between 150-200 words (Ali et al, 2015). The style has different sections. To start with, there is the title page. This page contains the assignment title, student's name and institution affiliation. The format for this page that GENERAL APA FORMAT 2 differentiates APA from other styles of writing is that it contains a page header. The page header does not have a page number while other pages have page numbers on the top right corner of the page. It should also have running head followed by the title of your work in capital letters (Bray et al, 2013). Once the title page is done, we proceed to the next page. This page has the abstract that contains a simple synopsis of the total work. To begin with, the title \"Abstract\" should not be in bold, italics, underlining or quotation marks. It is then followed by the body of the work done. Page header with a page number and the title of the work should also be included. In-text citations should also be included (Imel, S. 2012). The last page of the work is always the references. These are sites where the work is gotten from. One should always start a new page when putting in the references (Imel, S. 2012).
