Northwind Traders is a small international specialty foods distribution firm. Management has decided to close the North and South American operations and concentrate on European markets. They asked you to update certain customer records and to move all deactivated customers to another table. Once you move the records, you will delete them from the original table.

For the purpose of grading the project you are required to perform the following tasks:

2	Create a select query based on all of the fields from the Customers table. Add criteria to show only customers in the USA. Run the query.	15
3	Change the query to an update query that replaces all instances of USA with United States. Run the query and save it as Update US Customers. Close the query.	12
4	Create a make table query that is based on all of the fields in the Customers table. Name the new table Deactivated Customers. Add criteria to select only United States customers.	14
5	Run the query and save it as Make Table Query. Close the query.	11
6	Make a copy of the Make Table Query in the Navigation Pane, and name the copy Append Query. Right-click the new Append Query, and from the shortcut menu, select Design View. Change the query type to Append. Append records to the Deactivated Customers table. Change the criteria of the Country field to Venezuela. Run the query. Save and close the query.	24
7	Make a copy of the Append Query in the Navigation Pane, and name the copy Delete Query. Right-click the new Delete Query, and from the shortcut menu, select Design View. Change the query type to Delete.	14
8	Change the Country criteria to United States Or Venezuela. Delete all the columns in the query design grid except the Country column. Run the query and click Yes in the message box. Save and close the query. Open the Deactivated Customers table to view the records added by the make table and append queries. Close the tables.	10
9	Save the database. Close the database, and then exit Access. Submit the database as directed.	0
