EXCEL QUESTION:

I need to count a range of numbers in a single cell as in "1" or "1-7" or "36-65" and for the result to come out in another cell.

For example if 1-5 is written in one cell, i want it to come out with 5 in another cell. There may need to have an if clause for single numbers. If "5" is written i want it to come out as "1".
