Expectation

In this activity, you should reflect on the insights gained throughout the module and thereafter report on the competencies required from officials in a public sector organisation on the African continent. Your submission can be guided by following questions:

1. What is the impact of the legislative framework on Public Financial Management?
2. How does the use of public money affect the national economy?
3. How would you evaluate the government economic functions in South Africa?Refer to the performance of your particular organisation.
4. What are the prescripts of the Public Finance Management Act of 1 of 1999 regarding the financial responsibility of public managers?
5. What can be done to address the discrepancies between the need to provide services and goods as well as the scarce resources?
6. What can be done to improve professionalism and ethical conduct in the public sector?

Guidance

• The submission must follow the format and specific academic paper structure of the SPMA (Arial 12 and 1.5 line spacing) and must make use of the Harvard Referencing System see SPMA reference guide.
• Apply the knowledge you have acquired and mastered in the last 13 weeks.
• Present the findings in a detailed report.
• The assignment must be submitted electronically on the turnitin anti-plagiarism programme before or on Friday23:59 GMT+2.
• The submission must contain consistent and systematic text references for all data and information that are not your own ideas, including references for all direct quotes and paraphrased ideas taken over from other sources.
