14. Jonathan wanted to purchase a vacant parcel of land owned by Carla next to his property so he could build a swimming pool his family could enjoy. Jonathan offered Carla $75,000 for the land and Carla. Carla asked if he could do any better, and Jonathan came back with $80,000 and gave her a $1,000 deposit which she accepted. The two shook hands and wrote out a one-page agreement for the sale of the property stating the total sales price was $80,000, that the escrow would close in thirty days, but added the agreement would have to be reviewed by their lawyers to make sure it covered everything the law required. While the letter was being reviewed by their respective lawyers, Jonathan lost his job and contacted Carla stating that he cannot spend all of his savings on the land because he was not sure how long it would take him to find a new job. Is Carla able to insist on going forward with the sale? O A. No, the change in circumstances makes it impossible for Jonathan to complete the deal. O B. Yes, all of the important elements of a contract have been included in the one-page agreement, and it constitutes a legally binding contract. C. Yes, the change in circumstances does not negate the existence of a binding contract. O D. Both B and C are correct
