Explain in detail (around 2000words) information of Mental Health Strategy designed to support the mental health for

those within the sporting environment. The Mental Health Strategy serves as a capstone

experience that incorporates many relevant components. Some of the example of mental health are : Physical, Intellectual, Environmental, Vocational, Social, Emotional and Spiritual health.

What to INCLUDE :

1. Definition: What mental health dimension is going to be your focus? Or what element of psychological safety? Clearly identify a dimension of mental health that is the focus of your Mental Health Strategy
2. Population: Who do you want your mental health strategy to apply too?( as long as > 16) years! Clearly identify the population to be the focus of your Mental Health Strategy
3. References: Provide reference(s) for your mental health/psychological safety dimension. Want to look at elite athletes? Consider definitions identified in Swann et al,., 2015. Or look at Canada's LTAD. Want to look at injured athletes? Specific injury? Any injury?
4. Include diagnostic criteria if necessary (e.g., Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders - V)
5. Prevalence (general population & your population of interest). Can't find your specific population (e.g., rowers, rowing coaches)? Then perhaps general athlete population. Or coaches in general.
6. Symptoms and co-morbidities of your mental health dimension.
7. What is the impact of your chosen dimension? Within the sporting environment? Outside the sporting environment?
8. What are known risk factors for the development of your chosen dimension? Within the sporting environment? Outside the sporting environment?
