Explain theories and models which examine organisational culture and human behaviour?

• You MUST provide an explanation of one theory or model which examines organisational culture., i.e. Schein, Hofstede, Handy; Autocratic, custodial, supportive and collegial models

• You MUST provide an explanation of one theory or model which examples human behaviour i.e. Management and leadership theory and how management styles impact employee behaviour. Models of human behaviour (e.g. motivation theory)

My answer :

Organisational culture and human behavior play a significant role in the success of any organization. So, the focus in this area should be considered in all organizations that want to achieve its goal. Organizational culture can be referred to as the shared value, norms, and beliefs usually established by the leaders to shape employees' behavior, understanding, and attitudes. There are a lot of models that examine organizational culture. Maslow's hierarchy of needs motivates human behavior, the idea in this model is that the individual need to be satisfied with the lower layer to go higher to the next need. It consists of five steps: psychological, safety, love and belonging, esteem, and finally self-actualization. We will go through them one by one in detail:

Psychological needs: the first lower need in Maslow's hierarchy of needs. it is the basic needs that the individual needs to survive. It includes water, food, and clothing. these needs need to be addressed in the beginning to go to the next level.

Safety needs: the next level is safety, which includes: emotional stability, security, protection from thieves, health security, and safety overall. It is basically where the individual is feeling safe.

Love and belonging need: social needs are the third level in Maslow's hierarchy of needs. Mainly, it is the social needs interactions with friends and family members.

Esteem needs: needs for self-esteem and respect are located on the esteem needs level. Believe that you are important and valuable and being confident in your potential is mean that you achieve this level.

Self - Actualisation need: The highest level of the Maslow pyramid is self-actualization or we can call it self-fulfillment needs. It describes the fulfillment of the individual capabilities and potential as a human being. Self-fulfillment needs include skills, hobbies, and education. When an individual reaches this level its means that his needs are fully achieved.

Back to the organization culture which is basically defined as the shared conventions, values, and perspectives of an organization that make up its organizational culture. It encompasses how tasks are completed, decisions are made, how staff members relate to one another and to consumers, and how an organization interacts with outside stakeholders. Employee behavior inside an organization includes how they interact with one another, customers, and other stakeholders.

The culture and behavior of an organization can be influenced by a variety of things. The manner that employees are handled by their managers and by the organization as a whole is one of the most crucial factors. Employees are more likely to be motivated and to treat customers and other stakeholders with respect if they feel appreciated and respected. If workers believe they are not appreciated or valued, They can lose motivation, which would affect how they interact with clients and other stakeholders.

The organization's approach to handling conflict is a significant aspect that can have an impact on organizational culture and behavior. Conflict can be a catalyst for creativity and invention if it is handled effectively. Employees may get irritated and resentful as a result of the poorly managed disagreement, which may have a detrimental effect on their behavior.

Marker feedback :   This section remains insufficient . You have added a wideplace discussion on workplace happiness and health, however this is not addressing the criterion.

You have briefly outlined Maslow's hierarchy of needs, however there is no evidence of a further model which examines organisational culture e.g. Handy

ACTIONS

Condense your discussion and provide a more robust explanation of a theory which examines organisational culture

Fail. You have provided an insufficient interpretation of theories and models which examine organisational and human behaviour.

ACTION:

Models of organisation and human behaviour: for example, team performance, group dynamics, systems theory, high-performance organisations theory, Handy's organisational culture model, motivation theory, nudge theory, SCARF could be applied here. Two theories should be analysed. and use in text citation
