Express all answers in terms of variables given in the question and natural constants (like the acceleration due to gravity 9) and f or quantities dened thereby. Show all work for credit. 1] A block of mass m begins from rest and slides down a frictionless ramp that turns upwards at the end by an angle 61 with respect to the horizontal. It launches off at a point that is a distanceh.1 below it's starting point and ha abOve the ground. The block crashes into the ground and buries itself in the ground by a distance L. See Figure 1. (i) What is the kinetic energyr KE1 and velocity v1 when the block leaves the ramp? What is the kinetic energy KB; of the block right before it hits the ground? (ii) How high does the block reach above the launch point athg? What is the distance that the block travels in the :c direction after leaving the ramp and before hitting the ground? (iii) When the block hits the ground, it buries itself deep in the ground a distanceL at the same angle that it lands with. Assuming the force of the ground on the block is constant, what is the force? Only use work/energy arguments to answer this part of the question. Hint: you will need to solve 0.92. (iv) How would the answers to parts (i)n(iii) change if we doubled the size/mass of the block? (Assume the impact is still just a distance L into the ground.)
