Assuming that the TFR is unchanged. what happems to NRR if this probability doubles ? (c) Consider a male dominated society, where the parents believe that it is imperative to have a male child. Further assume that the pressure is really high and they would like to reduce the risk of not having a male child survive into adulthood as much as possible. Now assume the following: The probability of the sex of any child being male is 0.5. The probability that any child will live to adult- hocn-l is also 0.5. What should the target number of "births" be for this family? What is the risk (probability) that no male child will survive into adulthood?
