LISLEUP Eli intended to host a major barbecue for his business clients in July on some recreation property he owned. A major feature of the barbecue would be a whole pig roasted on a spit. He made arrangements on June 3 with Finn, a farmer in Sooke, to deliver a butchered pig, ready for roasting a day before the barbecue. Eli had actually viewed the pig at Finn's farm while he was out in the area in May. At that time Finn told him, "You're lucky. This is the last pig I have."
