Fair wage laws (otherwise known as prevailing wage laws) exist in many states and jurisdictions, and certainly in union shop states. These laws require that businesses that bid on government contracts pay fair wages (i.e. wages have to equal those paid to area union contractors). Do these laws benefit American workers?
