Familiarize yourself with http://www.orb.on.ca

During our tutorial for Week 2, we went through an exercise using IRPA (Immigration and Refugee Protection Act), and then I took you to the ORB website via the above link and conducted the same exercise with regard to the Ontario Review Board. You were told:

• You are retained to represent a client who has a hearing coming up at the Ontario Review Board
• You have never appeared there before and need to quickly learn what it is all about and what to expect so that you can prepare for the hearing and give advice to your client

Please answer the following two questions :

1. Describe the role of counsel to the accused at the Board
2. Your client is unhappy with the ORB decision and wants you to challenge it. How do you challenge a decision of the ORB? Are there any limits?
