Far fewer females are incarcerated than men in this country.Additionally,the pathology of the offenders is very different than their male counterparts.Many females that become incarcerated are victims themselves.What are some of the differences between male and female inmates in the US, in terms of the types of crimes they are committing, why they are committing these crimes, what the impact of the incarceration is on the family, etc.?What do you think some of the differences are, in terms of the prison experience, for men and women?Female inmates are often called "the forgotten offenders"-why do you think this is the case?Do you think society views female ex-offenders more or less harshly than male ex-offenders, and why?
