Figure A shows a brass specimen that has been subjected to slow strain rate testing according to ASTM G129 and the whole specimen was immersed in 0.4 M ammonium hydroxide solution. Figure B shows photograph of fractured surface of the specimen after the test was performed with the inset of scanning electron image of the magnifying selected fractured area. Assess & justify the case from corrosion point of view and determine the mode of failure for the specimen.
