Final Project Report (full mark 260 points) For this term project, youll describe and analyze the operations practice (or some aspects/areas of the operations practice) of a real-world community/local business of your choosing by applying course concepts and tools youve learned in this course. Youll describe the current operations practice of that organization, identify the issues/problems/weakness (or opportunities for improvement) of that organizations current operations practice, and provide recommendations to address the issues to improve its performance. A good paper is expected to be original, in-depth, with feasible recommendations. Preferably the organization is one that you personally are very familiar with, for instance, as its owner, current or former employee, customer, a frequent visitor, or a close observer, etc. You shall be able to collect first hand data/information about that organization, for instance, your current or previous employer. Please make sure you provide sufficient details in the plan, so the instructor can better understand what you are going to do for the project. shall include: the organization and general background of the organization, whether youll work on the whole operations practice or some areas of operations practice, the reasons you chose this organization (e.g., your current employer for familiarity with its sourcing or accessibility to the data/information), some general steps of the project (e.g., how to investigate the issues or improvement opportunities, the sources he/she is going to use, how to collect data/information by visiting, interviewing, etc.)
