Final Project-Part 2: Financial Research Analysis Instructions Using research (from the DSC library and/or other authoritative sources), company investor information, and 10K information from Sec.gov based on a company (must be publicly traded) you choose, you will research and complete the following: Research Objective 1: Students will research the use of source documents (customer order form, raw materials records, materials requisitions, labor time records, supplier price lists, etc.) and engineering requirements of a particular manufacturing process (i.e., development of a lamp, process of manufacturing a computer, etc.) to demonstrate the job costing process. Research Objective 2: Students will use Excel to compare and contrast cost equations, graphs, and cost predictions between two publicly traded manufacturing companies (the company you choose and another in the same industry, such as boats, technology equipment, etc.) using the 10K and company investor information. Research Objective 3: Students will research the budgeting process by comparing their salaries and living expenses to national averages, they will research and calculate taxes federal and state and compare against state averages. and comparing and contrasting personal and business budgeting using Excel. SEC.gov Information: Once youve picked your company you will begin your research by find the company financial information on sec.gov, the companys website and internet searches (using authoritative sources). Below is a picture of the sec.gov website and how to search for the company you picked to research financial information and download the 10K annual report (company financial information). Noticed that Facebook is used as an example, so make sure to input the company name you picked when searching the sec.gov website. Next, go to Company Filing Search and search in the Company Name search box, see example below: Remember, to check the discussion board that no one else has posted the company name youve picked since its the first post that gets the company name, so begin working on this assignment early.

Then, go to the 10-K report and select the Documents link. You will locate the SEC Filings under Financials for your company, then navigate to the most recent Annual Report (schedule 10-K). See pictures below: Next, download the document and scroll down to the financial information:

Once youve downloaded the company financial information from the sec.gov, you will also want to research on the company website as well as other websites for additional information for your financial analysis. Your financial analysis must be in Word with accompanying data in Excel. Also, it must be written and referenced in a professional format according to APA referencing used for business. Heres a link to citation generator for APA referencing help. This paper must be at least 500 words. You must upload the Annual Report (10-K) and the financial analysis to the Assignment Box in Falcon Online for grading by the deadline. The documents you submit must be professional in nature, free from typos and grammar errors, correct referencing, and detailed as expected from an accountant.
