Financial Statement Analysis Project Guidelines 1. Choose between one of the following public companies: a. McDonalds b. Jack in the Box c. Starbucks 2. Find the 2022 financial statements for the company that you choose 3. You will not be given an Excel template for this activity, but your project needs to be completed in Excel. 4. All of the financials for the companies you've been given, show multiple years of financial data on them. This can be helpful to complete the analysis. You only need to look at 2022 and 2021. 5. You will need to perform the following analyses: a. Vertical Analysis b. Horizontal Analysis c. Ratio Analysis 6. The information to perform vertical and horizontal analysis is already provided to you via the financial statements you have downloaded. You just need to know what each is and how to make the calculations. We will go over this extensively in class. 7. You will need to include the following ratios for your ratio analysis, if they are applicable to companies you are analyzing: a. Current Ratio b. Quick Ratio c. Accounts Receivable Tumover Ratio d. Average Days to Collect Receivables e. Inventory Turnover f. Debt to Asset Ratio g. Debt to Equity Ratio h. Net Margin i. Asset Tumover Ratio j. Return on Investment k. Return on Equity 8. All of the formulas for all of the analyses MUST be visible in the Excel workbook for full credit. 9. The suggested format would be to set up a tab for your balance sheet and a separate tab for your income statement. Use the accounts shown on the statements as your furthest left column (Column A) and then copy the numerical information for each year shown in a separate column to the right of that. Essentially copy the information provided to you already in the financial statements you receive from the intermet. Turn the information pulled from the financial statements to a font color OTHER THAN BLACK. Then perform your vertical and horizontal analysis for each statement on the same tab as that statement. I would suggest a third separate tab for your ratio analysis. Each ratio needs to be labeled. 10. The project will be tumed in via email. It is due by 5p.m. on December 74,2023 Below you will find the grading rubric which you will be graded on for this project
