1. Find a definition of 'art', note the source, and discuss with your group. Is this a strong definition? Is there anything you think it's missing? Does it line up with your own understandings of what 'art' is?
2. Discuss as a group whether you think popular culture is art.
3. Choose one of the following topics to focus on: graffiti & street art; tattoos and body modification; digital art and AI-created art. Read/watch the relevant resources in the Week 2 folder(you can leave the classroom to do this if you want to!). Discuss the following:
   1. What did this video/reading make you think about?
   2. What is most interesting about this kind of art?
   3. Where does it fit in the 'hi/low' understanding of art?
   4. Do you think the 'hi/low' distinction is valid? Why/why not?
4. Choose a contemporary artist in the area you have been discussing. Find approx. four to six images of that artist's work to include in your presentation. What do you think the artist is trying to convey in this work?
