Find a grocery product that is being featured as being "new" or "improved"

1. What is the complete product name and who is the parent company? Discuss how well this product "fits" within the company's product portfolio.
2. Include a photo from your phone or the Internet.
3. Using marketing terminology, what type of consumer product is it? Discuss WHY you believe this categorization is appropriate for your new product.(See the information in this week's Commentary & Readings. Do not say it is a cookie, cracker, etc.)
4. Describe its packaging, colors, logo and/or trademark. Discuss whether you believe the packaging is appealing and/or distinctive to differentiate the product from competing brands.
5. Using segmentation terms, describe the primary target market. Be specific, How can you tell?
6. What other type of products is it competing with? Be specific and name 2 of its competitors. Discuss whether the product offers any distinctive differences from the competition.
7. How is it priced in relation to the 2 competitor products you just named? Provide price comparisons and be sure to notice differences in size of package (e.g. # of ounces of product).
8. How is it promoted? Have you seen any advertisements or public relations/publicity? Do some research (company website, Google search) to identify how the brand/company is promoting the product.
9. Conduct a search to find customer reviews of the product. Describe some of the feedback customers are providing about the product. Discuss how you believe this customer feedback might influence other consumers.
10. Reflecting on your analysis above, discuss whether you believe the product will be a success or a failure? Why?
