Find a true story or actual legal case that relates in any way to the ethics of Informed Consent. You may search for cases on-line* or you may read a book or watch a movie to explore this topic. For example, the book "The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks" is a terrific book that raises questions about getting informed consent from patients if their tissues will be used in research (and, in this case, others would PROFIT, but not her own family). Or, the movie, "A Beautiful Mind," raises the question about competency and autonomy - whether a wife should commit her schizophrenic husband to a treatment regimen without his consent. You may be able to think of other books and movies that are relevant that you'd like to use. In addition, Peter Murray's "The History of Informed Consent" (1990) lists many historical cases you could use.
