Find an article online or in a newspaper, magazine, etc. that makes a claim about a population mean or a population proportion.

Your sample must include at least 30 data values

1. Write a paragraph outlining the purpose of the study, why you chose it, and the claim that was made, including a reference to the place you found the claim about the population (link, URL, etc.)

2. Describe the sampling method(s) in detail that you used to collect your data.

3. Explain anything that could have affected your results.

4. Define your population and sample.

5. Include a data table with your raw data (30 minimum).

6. State the hypotheses for the study using proper notations.

7. Run your hypothesis test (do not show the work) but state the numerical results

8. State and explain the statistical decision based on the P-value with a 5% level of significance.

9. State the conclusion about the article claim with respect to your hypothesis test. Explain clearly in the context of the claim and your results

10. Construct a 95% Confidence Interval with your results and interpret them in the context of the claim.

11. Summarize your project and thoughts, including extensions, how it could be done differently, etc.
