Recently, a Washington Post reporter named Taylor Lorenz -- who is most famous for her daily use of TikTok in her reporting -- published a story revealing the name and identity of the woman who runs "Libs of TikTok." The profile story outlined the ways this woman, New York realtor Chaya Raichik, has power over the national political landscape, and how it is central to right wing politics. In order to find Raichik's identity, Lorenz had spent months tracking Twitter usernames, knocking on the doors of people who know her, and using public information and data to support her claims. Raichik is angry that she has been outed. "Lorenz used her time to stalk me, showing up at a private citizen's elderly relatives' homes," Raichik said. "Her behavior is restraining order level crazy." Raichik insists that she's a private citizen who wanted to remain anonymous.

Lorenz releases a statement outlining how journalists do their jobs. "I reported this story out extensively, using every tool I had, to ensure I had the correct woman. She's not just some average woman with a social media account. She's a powerful influencer operating a massively impactful right wing media shaping discourse around LGBTQ+ rights."
