First initial steps I would take to get my team back up to speed would be to evaluate and have a meeting with all the team members to try and figure out why performance has been lackluster. I'd listen to all of their concerns and try to resolve their issues to the best of my ability. After that, I would set up a rewards system for the team in order to get them working for a goal such as, an extended lunch break or additional days off just as examples. This would hopefully boost performance rates and effective rates but if members of the team aren't seeing any improvement, I'd have other ways to try and get them on par with the rest of the team. Other steps I could take to boost overall effectiveness would be to set up a reach out system with me in order to solve individual problems. This system could help each member out by having a one on one conversation with any issues they might have like being shunned away from the team or if they are feeling stressed out. With this support, hopefully the members and the work team as a whole, has a rise in their confidence and morale which could foster them into working harder and increasing their performance. Lastly, if some members truly don't care about improving and are just leeching off the work of their other members, I would not fire them immediately but rather put them on notice and have certain sanctions such as a pay reduction if they do not improve performance. respond to this student
