For the purposes of this assignment, accept these assumptions. Each event you describe should be somewhat recent-please do not use events that happened before you started high school, unless you really can't think of ones more recent than that. Also, try to include all of the requested information below, in your answers. Event #1: Describe a situation where you were in the mindset of a Guesser personality and another person seemed to clearly have an Asker personality, and who put you in an uncomfortable situation by asking you for (what seemed like) an inappropriately big request. Choose an event where the awkwardness or discomfort lasted for at least one whole day, as you struggled about how to respond or as the Asker repeated his/her request. In other words, please don't choose a time where the Asker made a big request that made you uncomfortable momentarily, but you resolved the situation quickly. Instead, select a case where you struggled about what to do and how to respond to the Asker's "big" request. In the end, you may or may not have agreed to fulfill the request. For your description, try give enough detail by describing: who the Asker was, what they requested of you, why it seemed like a "big" request in that context, how you felt while deciding how to respond, about how long your decision process lasted, how you responded to the Asker, and how the Asker reacted to your answer. Two final questions to answer: What makes you think that person had an Asker personality (other than their making that request)? What do you guess the Asker was thinking when deciding to make the request (give your best guess)? Event #2: Now describe a different time in your life where you were also in the mindset of a Guesser personality (either because you really are a Guesser, or because of this particular context), and you were trying to ask another person for a favor that was important to you at the time. However, you were having difficulty asking directly because it seemed too forward, so you were trying to find indirect ways to make (or lead up to) the request, but it was taking a while to do because you were being indirect about it. Select a situation where you eventually did make the request, and the other person did agree to the request. Describe a time that stretched beyond a single interaction, and where at least one of these interactions was face-to-face (rather than all on-line).
