Describe what you believe to be Charlie's zone of proximal development from his mom's perspective (remember that the ZPD is the area between what the child can do on his own versus what the child can do with the help of an "expert."). In other words, what can Charlie do on his own and what does he need help with? Give an example of what Charlie can and cannot do in your answer. 2. Describe how Charlie's Mom uses scaffolding in her attempts to teach Charlie how to count. Provide an example of how she uses scaffolding. (no more than 5 sentences) (25%)

3. Was Charlie's Mom successful in terms of teaching Charlie how to count (yes or no)? Support your answer. (no more than 5 sentences) Please make sure that when answering this question, you use an example of Charlie using egocentric speech. (50%)

Make sure to include examples from the video in your answer, but do not simply repeat what you saw in the video so much so that your answer becomes a narrative of the video. Use what you've learned from your reading and from the Powerpoint slides to provide an insightful analysis of the learning process based on a Vygotskian perspective. In addition to using the General Grading Rubric to grade this assignment, I will also be looking to see if:

1. The answer correctly describes Charlie's ZPD from the perspective of his Mom and supports the answer with a correct example.
2. The answer correctly describes how Charlie's Mom uses scaffolding (make sure to review the Powerpoint Slide that Discusses the use of effective scaffoloding) and whether the example or examples support the description.
3. The opinion given is correctly supported, the example(s) provided correctly support the answer, and an example of egocentric speech is provided in the answer.
