Focus deterrence strategies also as "pulling levers" policing program has been increasingly implemented in the United States and other countries to reduce serious violent crimes committed by gangs and other criminally active groups. In the late 1990s, Boston experienced an increase in a specific crime which was addressed with applying the "pulling levers" strategies and evidence based problem oriented policing strategy.
