A. Final Project 1: Stop right there (100 points) a. b. C. d. Groups of 4 objective: i. Student teams are to design and build a surface vehicle that begins at or behind the Start line and comes to a complete stop within the Target Zone. ii. Student teams are allowed as many test runs as they are able before the end of the period on Competition Day, 5:25:2023. Students are strongly encouraged to build and test outside of class time. Ruleszggnstraints: i. Vehicles must be ground-based (nothing that ies). ii. Dimensions must be no larger than 12" x 18" x 8" (length x width x height) iii. No remote controls. iv. Once activated. the vehicle may not be helped or hindered (e.g.. touched. blown upon) until after it stops or by instruction of a coursejudge. Any interference will result in invalidation of that run. v. Damage to another Team's vehicle (intentional or accidental) will result in Disqualication from the contest and a score of ZERO for the assignment for the ENTIRE Team that caused the damage. The Team that suffered damage will be awarded 10% improvement to their best distance. Scoimgjocadirm: 100 points possible. Your grade for this project is determined by i. (50 points possible) The distance from center of target area to the geometric center of the vehicle a 50 points within 0.05 m of target 40 points within 0.25 m of target 30 points within 0.5 m of target 20 points within 0.75 m of target 10 points within 1.0 m of target 0 points greater than 1.0 rn from target ii. (50 points possible) Written report detailing the physics concepts discussed in class that are involved in the vehicle's motion a. 3-panel poster OR detailed write up b. Thorough analysis and accurate calculations c. daily progress reports via Schoology detailing progress each day. d. Report Due date: 5130 e EACH Student shall submit their own, substantially unique written report
