Food availability and distribution has the biggest effect competitively. Typically, when food is great and not hard to find, the groups tend to be bigger. In a place with less food, larger groups are harder to maintain. Both come with its pros and cons. Such as with a big group, it is much easier to keep the pack protected. Their social dynamics are worth paying attention to as well. I'm environments where the food is scattered and not in just one particular area leads to a group that is much less interactive with one another. Many small groups are formed and can eventually become permanent. On the other hand, if food is found in one place alone, the group will be much bigger as they are supplied by the same source. Lastly, group sizes that are determined by the food resources available will have a hierarchy at all times. If scarcity exists, the dominating individual may be harsher and stricter than otherwise thought of. discussion response
