For Chapter 1, some topics you could research are (these are suggestions only; you can research anything related to the strategic role of HR):

• examples of a company's HR strategy
• the past evolution of HR
• HR KPIs and how companies use them

It doesn't need to be long - aim for one paragraph or two to summarize what you learned. Do not copy & paste from your sources. And always remember to link to the sources that you researched (APA formatting not required for self directed learning posts, just the links are fine).
