Lucas' Aunt Pam died on May 10, 2020. Pam had purchased IBM stock in 2005 for $10,000. At the time of Pams death, the stock was worth $25,000. Lucas inherited IBM stock from Pams estate on December 31, 2020, when the stock was worth $19,000. The stock paid $2,000 in dividends on July 31, 2021. Lucas sold the stock for $30,000 on March 10, 2022 and did not receive any dividends in 2022.
