For example, if b = -4 and y = 1/2, then b^y = x is equal to the square root of -4. This wouldn't give us any real solutions!

So the base CANNOT be negative.

Hi,

As far I understand, I know the based can't be negative when calculating log. However, for example if b = -27 and y = 1/3, then b^y = x is equal to the cubic root of -3.

Is it correct? or incorrect?

Can anyone please clarify?

Thanks
