The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) wants to determine whether there is a difference in mean mileage for heavy-duty trucks driven on highways versus trucks driven in town. The EPA believes that mean highway mileage will be greater than town mileage (miles per gallon). To test this theory, the EPA gathers data from 30 randomly selected trucks to drive on the highway and another 30 trucks to drive in town. Volunteers are asked to drive the trucks and calculate miles per gallon. Answer the following questions to test the EPA's hypothesis using the data in Table 1.
