For my children, video games and tv shows are monopolistically competitive. They are similar but not identical substitutes. If I lower the price (amount of chores) I charge for access the tv, demand for video games will go down. Likewise, in the gospel gaining your own testimony and believing on the testimony of others are substitutes for each other. As we are able to gain a testimony of our own, our demand for other's testimonies will lessen
