For step 2: Using the template below, create 3 structured interview questions related to job tasks and KSAOs indicated by your job analysis from the Unit 1 project. First, you must indicate the KSAO that you will assess with the question. Then you must provide the structured interview question that you would ask to a job candidate. This structured interview question should be open-ended and either correspond to behavior description interview or situational interview formats. You must also provide a follow-up/probing question that you might ask the job candidate if they do not initially provide sufficient information. Lastly, you must provide 2 examples of ineffective responses and 2 examples of effective responses for EACH leading interview question. EXAMPLE for the job of hair stylist: \begin{tabular}{|c|c|c|c|c|} \hline \multicolumn{5}{|c|}{\begin{tabular}{l} KSA: Ability to visualize a finished \\ outcome given verbal instructions. \end{tabular}} \\ \hline \multicolumn{5}{|c|}{\begin{tabular}{l} Lead question: Describe the most \\ difficult time you had in \\ understanding a client's vision? What \\ did you do to resolve this difficulty \\ and what was the outcome? \end{tabular}} \\ \hline \multicolumn{5}{|c|}{\begin{tabular}{l} Probing question: Tell me about a \\ time that you had a client who didn't \\ have the terms to convey the look that \\ they wanted. How do you help your \\ clients describe their vision? \end{tabular}} \\ \hline \multicolumn{5}{|c|}{ Rating on this question } \\ \hline \multirow[b]{2}{*}{ w } & & & & \\ \hline & & cal & & \\ \hline \multicolumn{2}{|c|}{\begin{tabular}{l} Ineffective \\ (lower rated) \\ response \\ examples: \\ - Continued to \\ use technical \\ terms with \\ client \\ and/or \\ became \\ angry when \\ they did not \\ know the \\ terms. \end{tabular}} & \multicolumn{3}{|c|}{\begin{tabular}{l} Effective (higher \\ rated) response \\ examples: \\ - Used visual aids \\ to determine \\ what the client \\ desired. \\ - Made \\ appropriate \\ suggestions \\ regarding the \\ fit of the \\ client's vision \\ to their hair \end{tabular}} \\ \hline \end{tabular} For Step 3: Using what we have learned in class and the information from steps 1 and 2 , please respond to the following questions. 1. In the selection system that you have identified above (i.e., the 3-4 predictors that you have listed, including the structured interview), what order would you present the tests to your candidates and why? Would you use a compensatory or non-compensatory approach and why? ( 5 points) 2. Briefly describe the steps you would take to validate your selection system and ensure that it is legally defensible. (6 points) 3. Imagine a scenario involving an employee who has a disability. Provide one example of a reasonable accommodation that could be made so an employee with a disability could do the job that you have identified. What types of changes do you believe would be unreasonable (i.e., cause undue hardship for the company)? (6 points) 4. Looking back at the KSAOs identified in Project 1, identify which KSAOs are needed for an employee to be selected for the job, and which can be taught once a person is hired by the organization. Make a recommendation for which KSAOs and tasks should be the focus of training in order for the employee to be successful in the current job and for long-term success in the company. (6 points)
