Suppose that a recent sample of 36 such institutions yielded a mean expenditure of #1,130,000 with a standard deviation of $220,000. 

Using alpha = 0.05, can you conclude that the mean expenditure on such scholarships for all institutions in the NCAA Division I has increased since the 1999-2000 academic year? the formula used and value of the test statistic, the p-value, and your conclusion.
