Patient is a 9-month female who was diagnosed at birth with Tetralogy of Fallot. She has been stable but recently developed “blue baby syndrome”. The pediatric cardiologist ordered a transthoracic echocardiogram to visualize the full anatomy of the heart followed by a right heart catherization to assess the blood flow of the heart. Based on the findings, it was determined that the patient would need an immediate repair and was scheduled for surgery the following day. 

DIAGNOSIS CODE(S) Q21.3 I used only code Q21.3 for the Tetralogy of Fallot since this is the condition causing the need for the procedures. 

CPT CODE(S) 93307; 93451 I used CPT code 93307 to cover the transthoracic echocardiogram as I did not see mention of spectral and color Doppler.
