For this assignment I want you to write a threat analysis paper. For your paper you are going to find a data breach and write a paper on that. There should be plenty of information out on the internet to reference for this topic, but you should be reading and citing from reliable sources. I do allow you so cite from Wikipedia, but you should make sure that the article that you are citing has citations in it. I have linked a video below on how to use Microsoft's Words built in Citation manager. It will be your best friend and make writing this paper a breeze.

So what is a Threat Analysis Paper?

Simply put you are going to go out onto the world wide web and find a data breach. Then you are going to write a paper on how it happened, what was taken, any follow up by the Government or Police, any preventive measures that could have stopped it and how that entity has fixed the issue moving forward. You may not be able to find all the information I just listed, but most major breaches are going to most of that information. At the end of the paper you should give your opinion on whether the company was careless with their security and their customers data, or if they took the appropriate steps to solve their security vulnerabilities.

You are looking for any event that involved the breach of a companies digital security system. This may have resulted in the criminals gaining customer data or data that belongs to said company. You can also use stories involving governments stealing data from other governments and so on. You need to find at least 2 sources on the confirmed breach and you should include more if they are out there. You probably would not want to cite a Tabloid Magazine as your source, go find a good reputable source.

The Paper should meet the following requirements:

• Must be at least 3.5 pages long
• Should not be longer than 5 pages
• Must be written in MLA format
• Should be double spaced and have citations
• The citation page does not count towards your paper length
• Make a cover page for this paper (Does not count to paper length)
• 2 or more citations from reputable source
• One quote in the paper and cited
