For this discussion board activity, you need to practice making SMART goals and objectives. You will make a total of three goals and four objectives.

First,you will need to make ONE SMART goal with oneobjective for each of the following clients:

• You are working at a substance abuse treatment program (outpatient) and were just assigned to work with a 25 year old client who identifies as male (he/him). He is just coming out of a residential treatment program for his heroine addiction and needs help maintaining his sobriety as he transitions back into the community.
• You are a community support assistant who helps individuals get linked with economic and housing supports in order to avoid homelessness. You were recently assigned to work with a 44 year old who identifies as female (she/her) who needs help working applying for jobs, preparing for interviews, and securing consistent transportation. She is interested in working with food services or janitorial services.

Next, you will need to make ONE SMARTgroupgoal and two objectives for the following:

• You are a social worker at a local elementary school and there are concerns about bullying issues amongst the 5th and 6th graders. The school wants to start an educational group for those studentswho have been identified by teachers and school administrators as being the perpetrators of bullying. You volunteered (or were volun-told!!) to run the group. Create a SMART GROUP goal and at least two objectives that connect to a Motivational Interviewing perspective OR a Solution Focused framework that could be used for this group.
