For this discussion, I want you to consider what organizational psychologist Niro Sivanathan discussed in his TED talk about the dilution effect. In his talk, he considers the idea that the effect is utilized to great effect by pharmaceutical companies. What other industries utilize the dilution effect to make serious things seem less important and lesser effects or ideas seem more important by comparison. Discuss what the industry is, give an example, and then discuss both what the effect is and whether you consider this ethical communication.

As always, your original post should be a minimum of 200 words in length.

You should respond to a minimum of two student posts this week after completing your own. Do you agree with their choice of industries? Do you think they noted another use of the dilution effect? Whether you agree or disagree with their industry, do they do a fair job of arguing their position by providing evidence?
