For this discussion, please watch the documentary film "American Factory" on Netflix and respond to the following questions. The documentary is on the reopening of the former GM SUV factory in Ohio following its purchase by the Chinese car glass manufacturer Fuyao. It shows some of the production-related issues that we have learned in class, such as production volume and efficiency, and how they can affect the unit cost of a product and overall earnings. Since the company is Chinese owned operating in the United States, there are many cultural differences that affect productivity, manager-to-employee relations, goals, and employee motivation.
 

After watching the film, respond to the following questions with 5-7 sentences each: 1. What was the Chinese company chair's perception of American employees and the American managers they appointed? What led to the termination of the American managers? 2. What were American management's perception of the Chinese employees and operations when they visited the company in China? 3. List cultural differences you noted specific on manager/employee relations, expectations, motivation, productivity and efficiency.
