She states she has received complaints from coworkers and clients with concerns from your direct reports, such as:
- Sending inappropriate jokes and pictures,
- Grammatically incorrect emails with spelling errors,
- Generic cut and paste emails that lack specificity,
- Too many emails sent to multiple recipients instead of who needs to know
- Emails being sent at all hours of the night rather than primarily during working hours.
- Too much display of emotions in their emails, ranging from silly humor, petty anger, or expressions bad-mouthing coworkers, the organization, as well as senior management.
Your boss stated she hired you to clean this department up, and expects you to do so. She states she wants you to prepare an interoffice memo addressing the inappropriateness of communications and communicate how business communications need to be constructed by your team members going forward.
