For this weeks discussion I'm giving you the freedom to explore your own interests and educate your classmates. You're going to need to do little research/work on the front end so make sure you're prepared.
I want you to explore one of the "limitations" of GDP per capita as a quality of life measurement. You have the freedom to choose which one and how you want to approach it. So, for instance, you might be interested in the environment, you could look at a large scale thing like the Paris Climate Accord or more interesting in my opinion, tax shiftingLinks to an external site./carbon taxing, or something more local like state/city initiatives. Or a policy that affects income inequality, happiness or one of the alternative measurements to GDP...anything that relates to the limitations discussed in the content section (or you can go off the board if there is something else, but you may want to run it by me).
You should read at least a handful of articles or other sources (podcast/documentary etc), they don't have to be academic but should be from a reputable source. Ultimately try to narrow your focus down so there is a clear topic you're talking about. Your post needs to include:
1. Link to article(s). Make sure to use a hyperlink, do not paste the full web address.
2. A summary of the topic and why it is of interest to you.
3. Analysis of how it relates to GDP/quality of life, including pros/cons. You should clearly illustrate what the tradeoffs are.
4. Your opinion/point of view.
