Forming consensus and alignment within a team is crucial to achieving successful outcomes. The cohesiveness and cooperation among team members who share a common objective are critical to the team's success. Van Tulder and Keen (2018) reported that attaining consensus and alignment can effectively reduce conflicts among team members as they work together towards a common goal. Collaborative brainstorming sessions among group members serve to facilitate shared goal compromise. Encouraging the exchange of ideas and allowing participants to express their viewpoints and perspectives are effective strategies for achieving this. Such an approach fosters better alignment and a deeper understanding among team members, ultimately leading to shared objectives. According to Van Tulder and Keen (2018), facilitating open and respectful communication among all parties is indispensable to any successful negotiation. Active listening and acknowledging opposing viewpoints can foster mutual understanding and promote the identification of common ground. Additionally, breaking down complex issues into smaller, more manageable parts and addressing them individually represents an essential technique that can facilitate the resolution of disputes. Seeking compromise and identifying mutually beneficial solutions is vital for effective negotiation outcomes. I aim to incorporate leadership skills into my practicum experience by being proactive, taking initiative, and showing a willingness to collaborate and guide others. I will engage in reflective practices such as self-assessment and seeking feedback to develop my leadership skills.
