Four Sussex County Community College Students named Tex, Dallas, Sierra and Montana were walking to class when they saw on the college bulletin board that Mr. Wood Worker , the famous carver of wood statues from logs, was going to be at the campus the next day. The college announcements said it would be "rain or shine" and that "Mr. Wood Worker would be in the cafeteria area if it rained or snowed. All four agreed they would go. The next day was terrible weather.Icy, sleeting rain. Mr. Wood Worker , who travelled from Wayne , NJ , had a mild fender bender on the way to SCCC. When he arrived, he was told he would not be on the green in front of B building but in C building by caf. He explained to the college officials that his own chain saw had been slightly damaged in the fender bender. The College Administrator of student activities said ,"That's ok" we have an even bigger chain saw called the Imperial Chain Saw". Mr. Wood Worker was supposed to carve an elaborate eagle. He said he was behind schedule and that a bear would be better. The Adminstrator said, "No, just put the chain saw on high speed. We want the eagle.People are coming just to see the eagle." Mr. Wood Worker said that he rarely used high speed because it was difficult to control and threw chips. The Administrator said, "Hey, we are paying you for an eagle-do the eagle, I promise we will keep people out of the way ". Mr. Wood Worker began but as he looked down at the Imperial Chainsaw he saw two warnings,"Not for indoor use" and "Do not allow any individual not wearing googles within 25 feet.". Mr. Wood Worker went over to the Administrator and pointed to the warnings, The Administrator said," get on with it if you ever want to work with us again. Ill keep the students out of your way." Mr. Woody began. Students crowded into the atrium. The nearest student was 4 feet away when a large chip flew from the piece of wood lodging in the eye of the student .The student was rushed to the hospital . The student is blind with some permanent neurological impairment.
