Franklin is walking home past a wooded area. He hears screams of "Help, Help" and rushes to a small clearing. There he sees a man with a scarf around a woman's neck violently choking her. The man is saying "Die you unfaithful whore." Franklin intercedes and pulls the man off of the woman and wrestles him to the ground. Franklin punches the man very hard which breaks his jaw and knocks him unconscious. Franklin then goes to the woman who looks at him and says - "You Idiot. That was my co-star. We are rehearsing the last act of Othello which our drama club is putting on tomorrow night. We were just acting." Has Franklin committed any crime if so what and why? (The "alter ego" rule is in effect.) He has committed no crime since he honestly believed the woman was in danger. He has committed an assault, but he has a good "Necessity" defense He will be charged with Assault - The woman was in no danger and had no right of self-defense. None of the above
