Fred Jock is employed by the Freeloader District School Board as a grade 10 teacher at Bedrock High School. He is also the volunteer coach of the Bedrock Community Boys' Novice Hockey Team which is established by and part of the Bedrock and Area Minor Hockey Association ("BAMHA"). Almost all of Fred's team members are also his students at School, including one of his best players, Dylan Tough. Some of the team practices are also held at the school rink.

In October of 2012, the team qualifies to play at the provincial tournament to be held on Saturday, November 22, 2012, at the Redneck Community College.

During the provincial tournament Dylan has three serious fights in two games with opposing team members. In one game an opposing player suffers a broken nose after being slugged by Dylan. Before the final game, between Bedrock and Redneck, the coach of Redneck asks Fred to keep Dylan out of the game. Fred refuses. The coach of Redneck then goes to the referee for the game, Ron Cherry, and tells him to "watch" Dylan. Cherry's response is, "Ya got to let them play the game, buddy!" Referees for the provincial tournament are chosen and paid by the Redneck and Area Minor Hockey Association ("RAMHA"), the association responsible for minor hockey in Redneck County.

During the game Dylan gets into another fight with one of the Redneck players, Larry Domi. The fight goes on for approximately 10 minutes and eventually referee Cherry breaks it up.

However, Domi gets so upset that, while Dylan is being led off the ice by Cherry, he throws his stick at Dylan. Unfortunately, Domi is a lousy throw and the stick lands in the third row of the stands. Bob Quick has to put his arm up to prevent the stick from hitting him. The stick bounces off Quick's arm and the blade hits Ted Bigshot (who is sitting directly behind Quick in the fourth row) in the eye. Bigshot suffers permanent eye damage.

Bigshot is a rich businessman, and as a result of his injuries his company, Bigshot Enterprises Incorporated, suffers a substantial loss of profits because Bigshot is not there for six months to "call the shots."

Bigshot wants revenge. He wants himselfandhis company to sue theFreeloader District School Board, Jock and/or Quick, Cherry and/or RAMHA.
