From the perspective of a general manager in your field, which of the organizational control methods outlined in Chapter 19 of the Management textbook do you think would be the most universal? What does organizational control look like in your sphere of influence?

Total quality management is a focus of concern for Universal as they thrive on establishing an increased connection across multiple areas of the company. Teamwork, customer satisfaction, lowering overall costs, and employee satisfaction to drive up company financial results. Organizations that plan, find what needs to be changed, collect information about that change, analyze the strengths and weaknesses of the change and improve the business, are very successful. (Daft, R. L, 2013)

Universal focus even on the smaller things such as giving a special opportunity for employees to purchase a reusable cup so that he or she may reduce the need for purchasing paper cups when they eat their meals. The incentive for the reusable cup is fair for employees, as they feel a sense of pride drinking from a special tumbler that is not sold to guests or others outside the company. It is a small gesture, but a sample of many things that the company does to eliminate extra costs and unnecessary spending.

In my sphere of influence, as a general manager, I would continue to implement the quality management strategy. I would remain aware of my surroundings, my team, my employees, and the guests who visit the park. It is important to listen to the guests in their survey feedback responses, and the employee feedback from the employee surveys is also very important to focus on and listen to. This helps make communication stronger, and it also helps to mold the company by paying attention to feedback from employees and guests who visit the parks and also to stay aware and alert on the financial compensation and costs of operational procedures. (Daft, R. L, 2013)
