From the video, Building Trust in Virtual Teams. by instructor Brenda Bailey-Hughes, one of the steps I have adopted is "socialize in virtual meetings". While I believe that there are different types of meetings and some are more formal than others, I believe that being authentic and being human is a key to success in life overall, including in meetings and in virtual meetings. Especially as virtual meetings can seem more impersonal, including one's humanity in the meetings and recognizing the humanity of others, via socializing, can go a long way. A second step I have adopted is "be a connector". I actually consider myself somewhat of a super connector, as I believe that solid teams win in business, and in life. I am not afraid to be the proverbial team player, looking how others can achieve their goals in addition to my own, and to do that connecting others together can be a substantial positive facilitator of that, I believe, when done well.
