Recently, a complaint was filed by a woman who had applied for a position at our Halifax location. The complaint was filed under Part 1(d), clause (k), Section 5 of theNova Scotia Human Rights Act. This portion of theActrefers to prohibition of discrimination with regard to religion.
The primary purpose of this email is to reaffirm that Sensational emphatically abides by and supports all Canadian human rights legislation, and the company stands by its employees' rights regarding personal attire for religious purposes.
Secondly, we would strongly suggest that all employees refrain from any discussion of this matter, should they be approached by the media. Sensational's administrative team is focusing all efforts upon providing an equal opportunity, all-inclusive, team environment for its employees in which they can thrive.
